HP NEET UG Counselling 2026 Dates Out for MBBS, BDS Admissions, Round 1 Till August 17

HP Counselling for NEET UG 2026

Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has released the prospectus and schedule for the 2026-27 admission counselling process for MBBS and BDS based on NEET UG 2026. Himachal Pradesh aspirants have time till August 17, 2026, to complete their online applications for the first admission counselling round for medical and dental colleges in the state. Applications for the first round opened on August 13 and will close on August 17, 2026.

AMRU is conducting centralised counselling on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh Department of Medical Education and Research. Only those applicants who cleared NEET UG 2026 will be able to participate in the admission counselling process.

HP NEET UG 2026 Counselling Round I

AMRU has also announced the dates for the second and third rounds. The second round will be held from August 31 to September 2 and the third round will be held from September 16-18. Dates for the stray vacancy round will be announced later.

HP NEET Counselling 2026 Application Fee

Application fee amounts are different for different categories.

• General/NRI/OBC and other categories: Rs. 2,500
• SC/ST/EWS: Rs. 1,500
• PwD: No Application Fee

Please note that the application fee is non-refundable. Also, note that the application fee payment is not the end of the application process. The full application must be submitted and the candidate must generate a confirmation copy.

Who Can Apply for HP NEET UG Counselling?

All candidates must have cleared the NEET UG 2026 examination to be eligible for Application for MBBS/BDS under the state counselling process. In respect of seats under the State Quota, domicile in Himachal Pradesh and schooling or service of the Government of Himachal Pradesh however, conditions are liberal for Private Unaided Medical and Dental Colleges. The Management Quota seats of Private Unaided Medical and Dental Colleges are open for eligible Indian Nationals, including Non-Himachali candidates.

Which Colleges Are Covered?

AMRU'S counselling processes government and private medical and dental colleges in the state. The participating government medical colleges are:

• Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla
• Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda
• Dr Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan
• SLBS Government Medical College, Ner-Chowk
• Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba
• Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur

The counselling also includes H.P. Government Dental College, Shimla, private dental colleges, and Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College, Kumarhatti.

How to Apply for HP NEET UG Counselling 2026

The following steps should be followed on AMRU's official website:

• Open the link to the MBBS/BDS counselling application form
• Apply using a valid email address and mobile number.
• Fill in the personal details and NEET UG 2026 details given in the NEET records.
• Apply for the quota you wish to apply for
• Pay the counselling fee.
• Submit and finalise the application.
• Retain the confirmatory completion slip.
• Participate in the choice filling process after the publication of the merit list.

It must be noted that AMRU advises that only completion of payment is not equivalent to application submission, and a confirmation slip must be generated after application finalisation.

What Happens After Round 1?

Candidates whose names are on the merit list will go through the process of said list order, NEET, course, college, and quota preference for seat allocation. After allocation, each of the candidates must download their provisional allotment letters and join the allotted college along with all original documents.

Candidates who fail to meet the deadline for joining the allotted college will result in the cancellation of that seat. The vacancy will be transferred to the next phase of the counselling process.

Final Thoughts

The HR NEET UG 2026 aspirants should note that HP NEET UG 2026, August 17, is the first of the deadlines that they should be concerned with. Along with payment of the fee, aspirants must submit their applications and generate the confirmation page. With the provisional merit list slated for August 18 and choice filling scheduled from August 21, there is very little time to correct an avoidable application mistake.
