HNLU Launches IN TADR, A New Global Frontier for International Trade and Law

The Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, has officially launched the International Network for Trade Advocacy, Development & Research (IN-TADR). Spearheaded by the Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies, this global platform is dedicated to trade-related technical assistance, capacity-building, and policy-relevant research, with a specific focus on supporting developing and least developed countries. Launched on February 6, 2026, the network serves as a bridge between academic expertise and international trade governance, offering structured mentorship, training, and research opportunities for students, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

RAIPUR, CHHATTISGARH, In a significant move toward bridging the gap between academic expertise and global trade policy, the Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) has officially launched the International Network for Trade Advocacy, Development & Research (IN-TADR). This ambitious global platform was unveiled on February 6, 2026, during a high-profile international colloquium focused on global trade careers and the 30-year legacy of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Operating out of HNLU's Nava Raipur campus, the initiative marks a major step in providing structured, research-driven technical assistance and capacity-building for developing and emerging economies.

The new network is steered by the university's Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies under the School of Law & Technology. IN-TADR arrives at a critical juncture as the multilateral trading system faces complex modern hurdles, including the digitalization of trade, climate-related supply chain shifts, and persistent development asymmetries. By creating a stable institutional platform, HNLU aims to move beyond temporary interventions toward sustainable knowledge transfer and evidence-based policy engagement that includes stakeholders from the world's least developed countries.

Structurally, the network is built upon five strategic pillars: trade-related capacity building, research production, policy dialogue, government engagement, and youth development. These pillars are designed to facilitate everything from executive training for practitioners to collaborative research that supports actual trade negotiations. The network's governance features an Academic Advisory Board, chaired by the Director of the School of Law & Technology at HNLU Raipur, with daily operations managed by a Secretariat led by Dr. Ankit Awasthi, Head of the Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies.

Empowering the Next Generation of Trade Leaders

A central component of IN-TADR is its dedicated focus on Youth and Early-Career Development. Recognizing that the future of trade governance relies on fresh talent, the network has established dedicated pathways for students and young professionals to enter the field. Opportunities include specialized mentorship programs, research fellowships, and targeted training designed to bridge classroom learning with high-level policy environments. By offering individual memberships to students with a demonstrated interest in trade and development, IN-TADR provides a rare global stage for early-career individuals to interact directly with international experts and policymakers.

At EduAdvice, we believe that access to specialized global networks is the key to unlocking a student's full potential. The launch of IN-TADR by HNLU Raipur is a landmark opportunity for law and policy aspirants to position themselves at the forefront of international trade. We encourage our readers to explore these new academic frontiers and take active steps toward shaping the global economy of tomorrow.
