Chandigarh: The Haryana Directorate of School Education has reopened the Form-VI portal for the academic session 2026-27, giving eligible private schools another opportunity to submit their fee-related information. The portal has been opened from September 2 to September 9, 2026 following requests received from private school associations and amendments made in the applicable provisions. The department issued the latest notification on September 2, 2026, directing eligible recognised private schools to complete their Form-VI submission within the newly provided window. The form has to be filled online through the “Form VI Online Application” facility available on the School Education Department's website.
What is Form-VI and why is it important?
Form-VI is used by recognised private schools in Haryana to declare information related to their fee structure and other prescribed details for the upcoming academic session. The process is also intended to provide greater transparency regarding the fees charged by schools.As part of the submission, schools have to provide details such as the name of the school head, phone number, official email ID, PIN code and the name of the school's managing committee or trust. Schools are also required to upload a copy of their recognition certificate along with the form. The department has made it clear that schools must carefully go through the instructions available on the portal before submitting Form-VI. Schools can log in using their MIS portal username and password. If a school is unable to use its existing credentials, the department has provided the option to change the password through the MIS portal.
Fee details to be declared by schools
The Form-VI submission requires schools to specify the fee components that they intend to charge students. The department has divided these into mandatory and optional fee components. Mandatory fee components include charges related to registration, admission in specified classes, board examinations and common facilities provided to students. The notification also specifies that optional charges can be collected for facilities such as transport, boarding, meals or food, educational tours and other similar activities. Such optional charges are applicable only to students who opt for the respective facilities. The department has further directed recognised schools to submit details of the maximum permissible mandatory fee components applicable for the upcoming academic year. Schools cannot charge a mandatory fee component other than those declared in Form-VI.
Schools must display submitted Form-VI publicly
The notification also focuses on transparency after submission. Recognised schools are required to make their submitted Form-VI available publicly on their notice board or website, subject to the exception mentioned in the department's instructions. The department has stated that an incomplete or offline Form-VI will not be treated as a valid submission. Schools must complete the final online submission, and only the final submitted application will be accepted. Schools can edit the information entered on the portal before the deadline if any correction is required.
Non-submission can affect fee revision
The latest notification carries an important consequence for schools that fail to submit Form-VI. A recognised school that does not submit the required form can be prevented from increasing its fee structure for the academic year. The department's earlier Form-VI instructions also link the declaration of fees with permission to revise fees for the new academic session. The process therefore serves not only as a record of the school's proposed fee structure but also as a mechanism for monitoring fee revisions in recognised private schools. The department has also clarified that the current Form-VI submission facility is available only to private schools meeting the conditions specified in the notification. Schools whose MIS accounts have been closed due to non-declaration of seats on the RTE portal have not been given permission by the Directorate of Elementary Education to fill the form through this facility.
