Aligarh - The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) , successfully organised a two-day hands-on workshop on Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (MIDCAB).
The workshop aimed to promote modern minimally invasive cardiac techniques that halp reduce surgical trauma, speed up patient recovery and improve clinical outcomes. Live surgical demonstration formed a key part of the programme, providing participants with practical exposure to the specialised procedure.
The event featured a distinguish visiting faculty Dr. Brajmohan Singh, Director of Cardiac Sciences at HCG hospital, Bhavnagar, along with his team. During the workshop, two patients successfully underwent MIDCAB procedures with excellent results. Cardiothoracic surgeons from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi actively participated in the sessions.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Mohd Azam Haseen with support from the department's faculty and medical teams. University authorities appreciated the initiative, noting the importance in advancing patient care, medical education, and innovation at JNMC, AMU.
