Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University officially begins its 'Silver Jubilee Celebrations' with a Curtain Raiser Ceremony

The Curtain Raiser Ceremony was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Saraswati Vandana sung by the Music Society- Swar.

 

New Delhi : Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, commenced its Silver Jubilee Celebrations with the conduction of a Curtain Raiser Ceremony, which was attended by all the Deans, Directors, Senior Officers, and Academic & Non-Academic Staff of the University.

The Curtain Raiser Ceremony was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Saraswati Vandana sung by the Music Society- Swar. With the commencement of the celebration of the 25th year, 'Kulgeet,' the new Anthem Song of the University, voiced by the famous singer Shubha Mudgal and Pandit Swaransh Mishra also got released along with the promotional video of the University's Journey. The videos portray the past, present, and mainly the essence of the 25 years long journey of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

Established in 1998 and being the 1st State Government University, GGSIPU has created a niche as they reflect on its 25 years of journey. To mark the young age of 25th years, the University also unveiled its new logo and the release of the 'Silver Jubilee Calendar.' The ceremony also marked the energetic and electrifying performances of Classical Dance, Hip Hop, and Folk Dance by the University Students.

The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma said, "It's a wonderful experience and a great feeling to witness the fulfilling journey of

 25 years and reaching a milestone." He proudly stated that we have 2 University Campuses and our footprints are widespread in the form of affiliated institutions in Delhi and NCR. He also appreciated and applauded the commitment and hard work of the Past Vice-Chancellors of the University.

In addition, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Ms. Sunita Shiva, Mr. Manoj Kumar, and Prof. Manpreet Kaur Kang released the Calendar of the Academic Activities of Silver Jubilee Year Events. In conversation with the media, the Vice-Chancellor shared the plans for the yearlong 'Silver Jubilee Celebration' activities, which listed the IPU Health Mela & other health initiatives, Coffee Table Book and Compendium of 25 years journey of the University, Release of Currency Coin & Stamp, Yoga Sessions, Special Tree Plantation Drives, Recognition and Appreciation of associated Affiliated Institutes, Silver Jubilee Students Sports Meet and so on.

Apart from this, University will soon have its Museum where all the Curated Photos, Relics, and other items representing the University's journey, including the Kashmere Gate Campus to Dwarka and East Campus, will be displayed.

Speaking on occasion, Ms. Sunita Shiva, Registrar of GGSIPU, said, "Today is an important and influential day for us, and we are proud of our commitment and confidence. We are technical, we

are holistic, and we run market-oriented programs. However, we will further strengthen our legacy." The ceremony witnessed togetherness and a sense of achievement as the University has completed 25 years in the service of education and nation-building. A giant statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, made out of iron scrap, was also inaugurated on this special occasion.
