BILASPUR, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), one of the premier Central Universities of the country in Chhattisgarh, has announced to host the National Hackathon on Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (NHIDE-2026) on March 19 and 20, 2026. Organized by the Capacity Building for Design and Entrepreneurship (CBDE) cell under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, this national-level platform aims to strengthen the country's innovation ecosystem by fostering entrepreneurial thinking among students, researchers, and early-stage startups.
This two-day event will focus on a wide range of critical and innovative thematic areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Science and Technology, Advanced Materials, and Emerging Agriculture Technologies. Participants will also get to explore Health and Medical Technologies solutions, Digital Communications, Energy, and Social Welfare. Impactful ideas outside these specific themes are also welcome for submission, a note made by the organizers to ensure a broad,d inclusive environment for original innovators. This year’s NHIDE is designed as a collaborative ecosystem where aspiring entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to potential investors and gain visibility and compatibility. The event will also feature expert mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions, including panel talks and workshops on scaling and upgrading strategies, marketing, and funding. To further incentivize excellence, the hackathon offers significant rewards, with top prizes set at Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, and Rs 20,000.
Chief Patron Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal, Vice-Chancellor of GGV, and Patron Prof. Ashwini Kumar Dixit, the university Registrar lead the organizing committee. Technical leadership is provided by Chairman Prof. Ratnesh Singh and Convenor Prof. T. V. Arjunan, alongside coordinators from institutions such as IIITDM Kanchipuram and various industry experts. Notable keynote speakers include Dr. Alok Kumar Tripathi of NTPC GE Power Services and industry leaders from the software and manufacturing sectors. Aspiring participants, including students, academicians, and R&D innovators, are encouraged to register through the official submission link before the deadline on February 23, 2026. There is no registration fee for the event, and selected participants will be announced on or before February 25. Shared accommodation is also available, but on a first-come, first-served basis, with arrangements of tea and lunch during the hackathon days.
