GSTA Delegation Meets with the Education Director, Discusses Teachers' Concerns
New Delhi: The Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) delegation, led by General Secretary Ajay Veer Yadav, met with the Education Director to discuss major teacher and school-related concerns. The meeting also examined GSTA's recent inputs and concerns.After the meeting, General Secretary Ajay Veer Yadav emphasized that the pending reimbursements for tablets and data, which teachers incurred as per the Department's instructions, were highly emphasized. The Education Director, GSTA, said that the reimbursements would be initiated once the approvals are granted by the Government.
On the New Transfer Policy, the Education Director stated that the policy would be made completely transparent, equitable, and teacher-friendly, with attempts made to provide transfer opportunities within the ongoing academic session. The Director also said that the District Deputy Directors would be instructed to fast-track the pending cases of Modified Assured Career Progression and Promotions. It was also agreed that school heads would be instructed to provide certified Service Books to all teachers within a reasonable time. Recommendations by Principals for Administrative Transfers would be examined, and the affected teachers would be provided an opportunity to express their concerns at the Headquarters.
GSTA also wanted teachers doing government work like election duties, Booth Level Officer (BLO) duties, and census duties to be given special leave. The Director assured the delegation that there would be a positive consideration of the special leave demand. Issues on changing the recruitment rules of Vice Principals and establishing a safe, respectful, and positive teaching environment in schools were also discussed. Ajay Veer Yadav said that GSTA would remain a positively constructive channel for teachers vis-à-vis the educational administration with a focus on quality education and a better work culture for Delhi government schools.
The meeting was also attended by GSTA office bearers Ajay Anand and Deepak Kumar, among others.
