Bengaluru School Claims AIR 1 and School of the Year at National Finance Olympiad 2025-26

A student from Bengaluru has emerged as All India Rank 1 at one of India's most prestigious financial literacy competitions. National Finance Olympiad (NFO) 2025-26 awarded Rajvika Sawa from Greenwood High International School with the Certificate for Outstanding Performance for achieving the highest rank in the country. Atharva Tandon from Grade 7 of the same school bagged All India Rank 8.

There was broader good news beyond personal rankings. Greenwood High International School was awarded the School of the Year, NFO 2025-2026 trophy, ranking the school among elite competitors in the country. The results were published on 20th May 2026.

An impressive 62 students from Grades 5 to 11 represented the school in this year’s Olympiad. Commitment by the school to build a competitive academic culture is demonstrated by participation at varied grade levels. The combination of winning individual top ranks as well as the school-level top award places Greenwood High International School among the top performers in the NFO 2025-26 and is a significant motivator to other educational institutes in India to participate in financial literacy competitions.

What Is the National Finance Olympiad and Why Does It Matter for Students

The National Finance Olympiad was created to build financial literacy in students across the country and is a nationwide financial literacy competition. Its syllabus encompasses money, banking, budgeting, investments, financial planning, and entrepreneurship. Based on students’ age, appropriate benchmarks and assessments are used so that students from different grades can compete in the same competition while also ensuring a high standard of assessment.

NFO 2025-26 was attended by students from 500+ schools from across the country, which makes it one of the largest financial education competitions in India. Such participation makes the School of the Year award prestigious, which went to Greenwood High International School among a large and diverse national pool.

The Olympiad helps students gain financial literacy, which usually cannot be gained from the regular school curriculum, while also focusing on other disciplines. Investment analysis and financial planning topics are especially important for students who are considering making choices about higher education and scholarships, and thinking about their careers. NFO values thinking over memory, so it benefits students who want to enhance their decision making skills and thinking ability.

23 Students Receive Excellence Certificates at Leading School

In addition to the two top-performing students, 23 learners from the Greenwood High International School secured Certificates of National Excellence by earning positions within the country’s top 100 students. Collectively, the school’s representation as two All India rankers and 23 students in the top national 100 from 500+ participating schools demonstrates years of sustained effort and commitment as opposed to a sporadic achievement.

The hard work and effort shown by all students who took part in the Olympiad were rewarded. All 62 participants, including those who did not receive any ranking, were recognised for their enthusiasm and spirit. This clearly indicates the school’s commitment to recognising value in every activity and the status of competing as being in itself rewarding.

Niru Agarwal, the Managing Trustee at the Greenwood High International School, expressed, “We take immense pride in the tremendous talent, determination, and display of academic excellence at the national level from our students. Our heartiest congratulations to the rank holders Rajvika and Atharva, and we applaud the students for their commendable performances. The competition has showcased the school’s commitment to a culture of holistic development.”

Insights for Students and Parents Regarding the Finish

Students registering for the National Finance Olympiad next academic year can use the results of Greenwood High in their consideration of schools. Entry-level finance exams test the understanding of finance with the ability to apply finance to the real world. Reading the finance textbooks will not be enough preparation.

Schools that motivate children on financial education at the middle school level and beyond produce children who can better plan for their postsecondary education, articulate the scholarships they should apply for, and understand the career pathways they should consider. Competing at the National Finance Olympiad gives children the opportunity to understand the evaluation system and where they fit amongst peers across the nation. The 62 students from Greenwood High, who voluntarily represented their school at the NFO 2025-26, were from grades five through eleven. Their performance was due to the work of their peers and the supportive environment of the administration.
