The Government of India has launched a national AI skilling programme in collaboration with Google and YouTube, aimed at preparing students and young professionals for the rapidly evolving digital economy. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), seeks to strengthen India’s creative and technology ecosystem through structured training in artificial intelligence.
As part of the programme, 15,000 scholarships will be offered to learners across the country, enabling them to access specialised AI training at little or no cost. The initiative is designed to benefit students, content creators, and digital professionals, with a focus on building practical skills that align with industry requirements.
The curriculum will cover areas such as animation, gaming, digital storytelling, and media production, integrating advanced AI tools and workflows used in real-world applications. Officials said the programme aims to help participants become proficient in emerging technologies while enhancing creativity and innovation in digital content creation.
The move is part of a broader push to make India a global hub for digital innovation and content creation. By combining government support with industry expertise, the initiative is expected to improve employability and open new career pathways for students in AI-driven sectors.
