Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad inaugurated Kalpana Chawla Girl's Hostel at CUH

Governor mentioned the fame of India marching on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that today India stands in an important position in front of the whole world.

 

 

Mahendergarh : The young generation is the pride of India and it is only with the resolve of this generation that India can regain its ancient cultural identity. Today's young generation will have to move ahead with determination in realizing the efforts of India building started under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. These views were expressed by Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad on the occasion of inauguration of Kalpana Chawla Girls's Hostel at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. Mentioning India's daughter Kalpana Chawla, he said that Haryana's daughter Kalpana Chawla has proved that the role of women is important in making India a world guru and for this we have to lay special emphasis on women's education and empowerment. The program was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar and on this occasion the Registrar of the University Prof. Sunil Kumar, along with Prof. Sunita Srivastava and member of the Executive Council of the University Prof. Pawan Sharma were prominently present.

Addressing the program organized on the occasion of the inauguration of girl's hostel in the University and the G20 conference, the Honorable Governor mentioned the fame of India marching on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and said that today India stands in an important position in front of the whole world. He has taken this resolution of a Atmnirbhar Bharat, as a result of which he has got an opportunity to regain his ancient glory. India's culture is very ancient and from time to time Indians have left their indelible mark on the world stage. Today is the time to contribute to establish India as a Vishwa Guru again through the New Education Policy in which the role of students and teachers is most important. That's why the youth should take a pledge on Haryana, the land of Geeta, and actively contribute in building India while giving the message of peace to the world. On this occasion, Mr. Ganga Prasad also inspired all the students to take a pledge to stay away from drugs and move forward by learning from the lives of great men.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of the University expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ganga Prasad and said that the University will always be grateful to him. On this occasion, he presented the details of the academic progress of the University and explained how it is ready for teaching- learning as per the new education policy. In his address, the Vice-Chancellor inspired the students for socially useful research. He said that on the land of Haryana, Lord Shri Krishna gave the essence of Gita that showed the world the way to live. Mentioning the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas in his address, the Vice-Chancellor also recalled the sacrifices of those sacrificial heroes. Describing the G20 conference as an important occasion, the Vice Chancellor exhorted the youth to move forward towards digital diplomacy in India and contribute globally. The newly constructed hostel inaugurated by Shri Ganga Prasad in the University is fully equipped with Divyangjan friendly and state-of-the-art facilities. In total 105 rooms made in this, facilities of bed, table, chair and wardrobe etc. have also been made available for the girl students. The hostel has accommodation for 315 girl students. He informed that this hostel building, constructed at a cost of about Rs 20 crore, has got a green building three star rating. The facility of lift, gym, guest room etc. is also available for the girl students in the hostel.

Earlier, the program organized in Professor Moolchand Sharma Auditorium of the University started with SaraswatiVandana and lamp lighting. After this, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar welcomed His Excellency the Governor of Sikkim, Honorable Shri Ganga Prasad by presenting him a memento. The coordinator of the event, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, University Vice-Chancellor and engineering student Akshat Kant introduced the Governor. At the end of the program, Registrar Prof. Sunil Kumar presented the vote of thanks. On this occasion Prof. Sarika Sharma, Prof. NeelamSangwan, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Anand Sharma, Prof. Surendra Singh,Prof. Nand Kishore,Prof. PayalChandel, Dr. A.P. Sharma, Deans of various schools, Head of the Departments, teachers, officers, employees, students, research scholars were present.
