Government Sanctions 23 New Quantum Teaching Facilities to Bolster India’s Scientific Excellence

The Indian government has approved the establishment of quantum teaching facilities and laboratories in 23 academic institutions to accelerate research and skill development. New Delhi, India: In a landmark move aimed at positioning India as a global leader in the next generation of computing and technology, the Government of India has officially approved the establishment of quantum teaching facilities and specialized laboratories at 23 premier academic institutions across the nation. This significant announcement was made during a high-level, monthly joint meeting of Secretaries from various Science Ministries and Departments. The session was presided over by the Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who emphasized the administration's role in fostering an ecosystem of high-end research and technical education.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has indicated that this is only the beginning of a larger national rollout. While 23 institutions have received initial green light, the government is currently considering developing 100 additional quantum teaching laboratories. Furthermore, the ministry provided updates on the space sector, highlighting preparations for the upcoming PSLV mission scheduled for later this year, as well as several other satellite launches.
