Government Makes Yojana, Employment News & 227 E Books Free on WAVES OTT Platform

Students and job aspirants can now access key government publications for free. Move aims to expand digital learning and career resources across India.

New Delhi. ; In a major step towards improving access to educational and career resources, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting India has made several flagship publications available free of cost on the WAVES OTT platform. Through this initiative, journals like Yojana, Kurukshetra, Aajkal, Bal Bharati, along with the widely used Employment News, are now accessible digitally to readers across the country.

The move is particularly significant for students and job aspirants, as Employment News provides regular updates on government job notifications, career opportunities, and skill development programmes. Meanwhile, journals such as Yojana and Kurukshetra offer in-depth analysis of socio-economic issues, making them valuable for competitive exam preparation and general awareness.

In addition to journals, the Publications Division has released 227 e-books for free, including the well-known Bharat Year Book, which contains comprehensive information on India’s governance, economy, and development initiatives. This creates a one-stop digital resource for students preparing for exams like UPSC, SSC, and other government recruitment tests. The initiative is set to expand further, with plans to add around 300 more e-books soon at affordable prices. Additionally, printed books are also being made available through digital platforms, ensuring accessibility even for readers in rural and remote areas.

Education experts believe this step will significantly democratise access to quality study material, reducing dependency on expensive resources. By combining free digital content with affordable books, the government aims to create a more inclusive and student-friendly learning ecosystem.
