Government Engineering College Tezu to Start First Academic Session Soon

Government Engineering College (GEC) at Tezu is preparing to launch its maiden academic session. MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai inspected the newly developed campus infrastructure and announced that Class 12 PCM students without JEE scores will also be eligible for vacant engineering seats based on merit, providing a significant boost to technical education in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunahal Pradesh ; The government of Arunachal Pradesh have announced a very big news for all technical education students in the region. Government Engineering College (GEC) situated at Tezu is fully getting ready to start its very first official academic session from this year 2026. The construction work and campus setup is almost coming to end now. Local people and students was waiting for this college opening from a very long time. Now finally the college administration are making all arrangements so that classes can start without any more delay. This new engineering college is expected to change the whole study atmosphere for local engineering aspirants.

Inspection Of Campus Work By Dr. Mohesh Chai - 

To see how much work is completed, the MLA of Tezu-Sunpura constituency who is also Adviser to the Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Mohesh Chai, visited the college place himself. He made a full inspection tour of the whole campus building, modern classrooms, and remaining work area. During this visit, Dr. Chai checked all infrastructure facilities carefully to see if everything is proper for new students or not. After looking at current progress, he showed satisfaction with the speed of construction work. He instructed all government officers and construction agency staff to finish whatever small works is still left as fast as possible. He said that class starting date should not get affected because of unfinished work.

Big Admission Rules Relief For Class 12 Science Students - 

Along with campus inspection, Dr. Mohesh Chai also shared one very important update regarding admission process in GEC Tezu. Many students who pass Class 12 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects often miss giving national level JEE exams due to different reasons. For such students, the government have brought a very big relief this time. Dr. Chai informed that Class 12 PCM pass out students who did not sit for JEE test will also be allowed to apply for engineering seats here. If any seats remains vacant after giving priority to regular applicants, those empty seats will be filled using Class 12 marks merit. This step will give a fresh second chance to many local students who want to become engineers.

Major Push For Technical Education In Eastern Arunachal - 

Opening of Government Engineering College in Tezu is going to give a massive boost to higher education sector in eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh state. Earlier, many young boys and girls had to travel far away to other states or big cities for getting a degree in engineering. That required a lot of hostel expenses and travel trouble for poor families. But now with GEC Tezu opening its door, high quality technical degree will be available right inside the state region.
