New Delhi. ; The Delhi government has invited applications for a range of scholarship schemes for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) for the academic session 2025–26. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official e-district portal until April 30, 2026.
The initiative aims to provide financial support to students across different levels of education, from school to higher and professional studies, through a mix of state-funded and centrally sponsored schemes.
Support for School Students
Students from SC, ST, and OBC categories studying in Classes 1 to 12 in recognised schools can benefit from reimbursement of tuition fees and other compulsory charges. This support is available to families with an annual income of up to Rs 3 lakh, subject to attendance and academic performance criteria.
Additionally, under the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana:
- Students of Classes 9 and 10 are eligible for Rs 5,000 per year
- Students of Classes 11 and 12 can receive Rs 10,000 per year
These benefits are granted based on income eligibility and merit.
Scholarships for Higher and Professional Education
Students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, technical, or professional courses can apply for merit-based financial assistance. The scholarship amount ranges from Rs 8,000 to Rs 24,000 annually, depending on the level of study and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar.
Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in their previous academic year to qualify.
Incentives for Academic Excellence
To recognise outstanding academic performance, the Delhi government will award Rs 25,000 to top-performing students under the Dr B.R. Ambedkar State Topper Award across various university disciplines.
Financial Aid for Studying Abroad
Special provisions have also been made for SC students aspiring to pursue postgraduate or doctoral studies overseas. Selected candidates can receive financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh per year.
The total support is capped at:
- Rs 10 lakh for Master’s programmes
- Rs 20 lakh for PhD programmes
Eligibility will depend on income limits and other prescribed criteria.

These scholarship schemes are designed to reduce financial constraints and ensure that students from disadvantaged communities have access to quality education and better academic opportunities.
