Goa: The D.D. Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies, in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion at Goa University, will organise a book discussion on The Story of Jankye Bai on February 3, 2026.
The discussion will focus on the text against lived histories, memory, and women’s voices that have travelled across generations through oral traditions. The session is designed as a reflective academic space to engage with storytelling as a form of social knowledge.
The event will be held at 3.00 pm at the Seminar Hall, Faculty Block B, Goa University. The author of the story will be present for the discussion, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly with the voices behind the narrative.
The session has been conceived by Ms Vithai Zaraunker, Assistant Professor, Women’s Studies Programme, Goa University. Dr Mozinha Fernandes, Assistant Professor in Sociology, Goa University, will also participate in the discussion.
The book discussion is open to students, faculty members, and interested participants, and seek community narratives and feminist perspectives within academic discourse.
