GGSIPU Hosts National Conference on Contemporary Literary Studies

The conference brought together research scholars from across India, providing a platform for academic exchange and critical engagement on contemporary literary issues

 New Delhi, April 25. : The University School of Humanities and Social Sciences (USHSS), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), organized a two-day National Conference on “New Paradigms, New Epistemes: Literature and Criticality in the 21st Century” at its Dwarka campus.

Held under the leadership of Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor, the conference was conducted with the guidance of Prof. Shuchi Sharma, Dean, USHSS, and coordinated by Dr. Shubhankur Kochar.

The conference brought together research scholars from across India, providing a platform for academic exchange and critical engagement on contemporary literary issues. A key highlight was the Keynote Address by Prof. Krishnan Unni P, who explored defining questions of 21st-century literature.

Multiple technical sessions covered themes such as literature and ecology, gender, cinema, trauma, and digital culture. The event also featured a vibrant Cultural Evening with performances by students and faculty.

The conference concluded with a valedictory session, reaffirming the University’s commitment to fostering research and interdisciplinary dialogue.
