GGSIPU Applications Close Tonight: 24 New Courses and 43,000+ Seats Offered
New Delhi. ; Today is the last day. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (popularly known as IP University or GGSIPU) has expressed May 30, 2026, as the last date for online applications to programs where candidates are required to take a national-level examination. Applications will close tonight, and no further extensions will be given.
What is being offered is quite substantial. GGSIPU has opened more than 43,000 seats for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is spread across more than 130 affiliated colleges and university schools in Delhi. This year's admission cycle has multiple new firsts. At a launch event held in January at the India International Centre, New Delhi, which was attended by the Delhi Education Minister, Ashish Sood and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mahesh Verma, the university announced the addition of 24 new programs.
Based on the course the candidate wishes to apply for, students can apply if they have qualified in JEE Main, NEET UG, CAT, CMAT, CLAT, NIMCET, or CUET, among other examinations. Applications are to be submitted at ipu.admissions.nic.in, accompanied by a non-refundable, application-cum-counseling fee of Rs 2,500. If you have yet to submit your application, you may do so until the close of applications tonight.
How to Submit Your Application by the Deadline and What Happens After
You can only apply online at the GGSIPU admissions portal at ipu.admissions.nic.in. If you have not applied yet, here is what you must do before the deadline tonight: Go to the official website and click "IPU Registration 2026." Select "Fresh Candidate Registration." Enter your personal and academic information. You must provide a passport-sized photo and copies of your signature, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, and your scorecard for the national-level exam. These documents must be provided in their scanned forms. Submit the one-time application-cum-counselling fee of Rs 2,500. This fee is mandatory. Complete the payment and download the confirmation receipt. The confirmation receipt is a proof of your application. You do not need to pay a separate fee for counselling. To be eligible to apply, B. Tech applicants must be 21 years or younger as of August 1, 2026. Graduate applicants must have a certification of their degree and a mark sheet with at least 50% marks at the degree level.
Applications will close tonight, and GGSIPU will move ahead to the counselling phase. There are multiple online rounds of counselling. During this process, applicants will select their preferences. The selection made will later be formalised by payment of fees and will be “frozen.” Counselling communications will be sent to the contact information provided by you. Make sure that your mobile number and email address are active and regularly checked.
Students applying for programs not controlled by national-level tests and instead assessed via GGSIPU CET were given a different application window which closed on March 31, 2026. The GGSIPU CET 2026 was held between April 25 and May 17, 2026.
