Five day FDP focused on road safety started at CUH.

 


Mahendergarh : The five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) in association with the Indian Road Safety Campaign started at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh on Tuesday. While addressing the program, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that every citizen should be aware as well as responsible towards road safety. He said that through this program organized with the slogan of ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Suraksha,’ the participants would definitely get an opportunity to know and understand the necessary rules, efforts and practical aspects of road safety. On the first day of the program, Manas Chaudhary and Deepanshu Gupta of Indian Road Safety Campaign apprised about the importance of this campaign. The President of ICT Pvt. Ltd, Prof. P.K. Sikdar and Dr. Ankit Kathuria of IIT Jammu addressed as the expert speakers.

              At the beginning of this five-day program, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering and Technology (SoET) of the University, under the Road Safety Week, the Head of the Department and the Coordinator of the program, Prof. Vikas Garg delivered the welcome address. After this, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology presented the introduction of the Vice Chancellor of the University. In his address, the Vice Chancellor drew attention to the importance of rules and their compliance. He said that through such events it would help to know the various aspects of road safety required at all levels. In his address, the Vice Chancellor said that along with infrastructural reforms, practical training and awareness campaigns are also necessary for road safety.

                         He said that if everyone ensures compliance with the rules with responsibility, then the damage on the road can be avoided. In this sequence, expert speaker Prof. P.K. Sikdar elaborated on the challenges faced by India related to Global Road Safety Plan and Management system and explained how better results can be achieved on this front by adopting systemic reforms. Dr. Ankit Kathuria, in his address focused on Accident Analysis and Black Spot Treatment, while giving a lecture on its prevention, mentioned its causes and the efforts needed for relief. Program coordinator Dr. Abhishek Jindal presented the outline of this event and Engineer Sunny Tawar threw light on this event of the department in detail. On this occasion the Deans of various Schools, Head of the Departments, teachers, students and researchers of various departments of the University were present through online medium.
