Kolkata : The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) is proud to hostfirst national conclave, "India 2047: Building the Future with Entrepreneurship," scheduled to take place on 10-11 August, 2024. This 2-day prestigious event promises to bring together visionaries, innovators, leaders, and alumni from various sectors to discuss and explore the future of entrepreneurship in India and beyond. Being the premier management institute in India, IIM Calcutta has produced quality alumni who have contributed enough on entrepreneurial ventures on various fields. The Institute is in the process of creating a ‘Centre for Excellence in Entrepreneurship& Innovation’ at IIM Calcutta (the MoU has been signed on August 9, 2024), while hosting this symposium. The central idea behind organizing this conference is to invite the Institute’s alumni who had made iconic contributions to the field of entrepreneurship, particularly in the domains of Artificial Intelligence technology, hospitality, logistics, MSMEs, venture capital, manufacturing et al.Mr. Patanjali G Keswani, Chairman and Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels and also a distinguished alumnus of IIM Calcutta delivered the Key Note Address. Background:
As India marches towards its centennial yearin 2047, the role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and societal transformation has never been more critical. This conclave aims to provide a platform for sharing insights, fostering collaborations, and igniting the entrepreneurial spirit across industries. With a focus on cutting-edge technologies and their applications, the event will highlight how core sectors of Manufacturing, Services, e-Commerce, alongside emerging sectors of HealthTech, EdTech, AgriTech, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence amongst others can leverage advancements to drive businesses, policy, and practice forward.

Special session on AI: Google Deep Mind is the leading Artificial Intelligence lab in the world. The Deep Mind team is doing cutting edge work on AI. Mr. Abhishek Bapna, Director of Product Management at Google DeepMind will make a presentation on AI and how it can be leveraged to drive great leaps in solving big challenges in India. The topic of his discussion is how startups can leverage AI to drive the next leap for their businesses?
