New Delhi- Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), in collaboration with the University of Western Australia (UWA), has announced the Joint PhD (Cotulelle) Degree Programme 2026. Applications are open for students currently enrolled in the PhD programme of AcSIR at its associated research institutions.
Under this programme, selected candidates will be required to spend 12 months at UWA's Perth Campus as part of their AcSIR PhD. UWA will provide a fortnightly stipend and full tuition-fee scholarship for the duration of stay while AcSIR will cover the international return airfare (economy class), Overseas Student Health cover (OSHC), and partial Visa fee reimbursement.
The programme is open only to Indian nationals who are enrolled in the 2nd, 33rd and 4th semester of the AcSIR PhD programme. Eligible admission batches include January 2024, August 2024 and January 2025 for regular PhD and January 2022, August 2022 and January 2023 for IDDP candidates. Applicants must also meet UWA's English language requirements, including IELTS with a minimum overall score of 6.5.
Applications must be submitted through the AcSIR Coordinator of the candidate's institute, along with the AcSIR application form, UWA Expression of Interest and a one-page research proposal. Completed application must be emailed to admission.jdp@acsir.res.in by January 30, 2026.
AcSIR has clarified that students holding permanent positions are not eligible and selected candidates must comply with the academic requirements of both AcSIR and UWA. The final selection and communication will be handled directly by UWA.
