New Delhi : The Ministry of Education (MoE) has instructed the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to examine and update textbooks once a year. So far, there is no rules for the regularity with which NCERT textbooks are updated. However, since 2017, the council has occasionally revised and updated the text.
'In today's rapidly changing world, textbooks must be completely up to date. The NCERT has been requested to undertake a yearly review and update them before the start of the new academic session.
Once NCERT books are published, they ought not to remain the same for many years. They should be reviewed every year before publication, and any modifications or additions to the facts should be recorded in the books. For example, issues such as artificial intelligence are rapidly evolving.
The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is in the process of generating textbooks based on the new curriculum framework. The textbooks for all classes will be ready by next year in accordance with the revised curriculum structure. This year, the council introduced new textbooks for grades 3 to 6.
