New Delhi: Delhi University admission policy 2022-23 has been released by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh, University of Delhi (DU) where it has been revealed that the DU admission process will be carried out through the Common Admission Test (CUET 2022).
Singh said that candidates are required to attend the CUET exam only in those subjects which they have studied in Class 12 and a mandatory language in the first section of the CUET exam. A student who wishes to change their stream can do it by attending CUET 2022 on the basis of the subjects they have studied in Class 12 regardless of the stream they wish to take admission in.
According to the DU admission policy 2022, a student who has learned science subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM), only needs to attend these science subjects and the mandatory language section in the CUET exam even if she wishes to get admission to another stream such as humanities or social science. Their merit for admission into that subject will only be based on their performance in the PCM subjects and the mandatory language section in CUET exam.
CUET 2022 includes three sections under which, the first section is divided into two parts with 13 languages in the first part and 20 languages in the second part. Candidates are required to appear in at least one language for admission to Delhi University. The second section includes 27 domain-specific topics. The third section is general knowledge, which is mandatory only for admissions to BA programmes.
He said that for admission to most of the programmes at DU, a candidate has to choose at least 3 subjects from the second section. The second section is classified as two lists B1 and B2. The candidates have to choose the subjects appropriately so that not more than one subject is selected at a time.
As per the DU admission 2022, CUET exam is adopted for admission to all undergraduate programmes except the School of Open Learning (SOL) and the National Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB).
