DTU to Award Degrees to Graduates at Its 12th Annual Convocation

Delhi Technological University (DTU) is set to hold its 12th Annual Convocation on October 22, 2026, recognising the academic achievements of students graduating during the 2024–25 and 2025–26 academic sessions. The ceremony marks an important milestone for graduates as they prepare to move towards further studies, research and professional careers.

According to reports published on October 21, the convocation is expected to award PhD degrees to more than 300 research scholars. The ceremony will be presided over by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Education Minister Ashish Sood and Principal Scientific Adviser Ajay Kumar Sood also expected to attend.

The convocation follows DTU’s 10th Golden Pride function, held on October 21, during which 46 students were honoured with awards, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal. Research scholars and scholarship recipients were also recognised for their achievements. The university announced that scholarships worth ₹38.45 lakh were being awarded this year.

In addition to recognising academic excellence, the university has highlighted the importance of strengthening research and connecting it with industry. According to the report, DTU alumni have committed ₹4 crore towards scholarships and ₹10 crore towards a Centre of Excellence, reflecting continued support for student development and research infrastructure.

The event comes at a significant stage in students’ academic journeys. While undergraduate and postgraduate degrees recognise years of learning and hard work, doctoral degrees represent an extended commitment to research and the development of new knowledge. The convocation provides an opportunity to acknowledge these achievements and highlight the contribution of higher education to innovation and professional growth.

Through the ceremony and its broader focus on research, scholarships and academic recognition, DTU continues to emphasise the importance of preparing students for future challenges. The event is expected to bring together graduates, faculty members, university officials and guests to celebrate academic accomplishments.
