- Transparent admissions via computerised draw of lots
- Centralised document verification by trained zonal teams
- District committees to address seat allocation concerns
New Delhi. : The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has released updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the 2025-26 admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories in private schools. The revamped process aims to ensure transparency, efficiency, and fairness.
Key Highlights of the Guidelines:
Data Collection and Seat Allocation
- The process begins with collecting data on the sanctioned capacities of schools, now available on the DoE website.
- Within seven working days, the DoE will assess and update the available seats on its portal.
- A district-level committee, led by the Deputy Director of Education (DDE), will resolve seat allocation concerns before publishing the final list of vacancies.
Admissions Process
- Applications will be invited through a detailed circular issued by the DoE.
- A computerised draw of lots will determine admissions, ensuring fairness.
- Selected candidates will be notified via SMS, email, or phone calls.
Centralised Document Verification
- For the first time, document verification will be conducted by 29 trained zonal teams rather than individual schools.
- These teams, well-versed in the Right to Education (RTE) Act provisions, will complete verifications within 10 working days of the draw.
Provisions for Discrepancies and Delays
- Candidates with document discrepancies will have 15 working days to resolve issues.
- Those who miss the initial reporting deadline will be given an additional five working days to complete submissions.
- This streamlined and structured approach by the DoE aims to enhance the admission process for EWS, DG, and CWSN categories, ensuring transparency and equitable access to quality education.
