Aligarh - The Department of Library & Information Science at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is set to organise Intellib 2026: International Conference on Emerging Trends in Libraries on March 27–28, 2026 at the AMU campus, Aligarh. The conference aims to provide an international platform for deliberation on the evolving role of libraries in a rapidly changing digital and AI-driven environment.
The conference will explore key themes such as Artificial Intelligence and Smart Libraries, Digital Libraries and Emerging Technologies, Knowledge Organization and Information Retrieval, Scholarly Communication, Library Management and Leadership, Ethics and Privacy, Sustainability, and the Future of Libraries. It seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among library professionals, researchers, educators, information technologists, and policymakers at national and international levels.
According to the organisers, the conference objectives include examining emerging innovations in modern libraries, addressing legal and ethical issues related to data privacy and intellectual property, identifying new competencies for library professionals in the AI era, and strengthening research and scholarly communication. The event will also encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing to build intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable library ecosystems.

The conference is being convened by Prof. M. Masoom Raza, with Prof. Preeti Mahajan as Director of the Conference and Prof. Nishat Fatima as Organising Secretary. An advisory committee comprising eminent national and international scholars will guide the deliberations.
