Mr. Sanjiv Goyal, President, Adroit Capital, Las Vegas, USA visited Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) on 9th June, 2023 and had a candid conversation with JMI Vice Chancellor Prof Najma Akhtar (Padma Shri) on how to strengthen ‘Brand Jamia’, future of education, growth and change. The program was attended by Deans, HoDs and other faculty members who were also part of this important deliberation held at Mir Taqi Mir Hall of the university.
After welcoming Mr. Goyal, Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar in her address said that the university has achieved several landmarks during her tenure so far. It has reached to 3rd rank in NIRF India Ranking released by the Ministry of Education in 2022 and maintained the position this year too with an increase of rank in several areas like law, architecture & planning, dental etc. The university also got highest grade A++ accreditation from NAAC and an increase of rank in important international rankings like QS,THE & RUR too.
The Vice Chancellor said that through the Alumni Connect cell, the university is trying to get in touch with its alumni settled across the world to come forward and help in developing JMI as per the requirements of the modern times.
Mr Goyal, an alumnus of JMI is an entrepreneur, innovator and investor who has settled in the USA for the last three decades. He talked about the future of AI in different fields, innovations and developing entrepreneurship during the interaction. He also spoke about how the world is changing with new technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and the need to embrace them to stay ahead in the race. He suggested several ways through which JMI alumni across the globe could be roped in to contribute in taking university to new heights and promised to help the university in all possible ways including connecting with alumni across the world.
