Delhi Police Constable Result 2026, 66,076 Cleared for PET/PMT

SSC announced the result for Delhi Police Constable (Executive) on June 19, 2026. This result selected 66,076 candidates out of 27.25 lakh applicants. Selected candidates will have to clear the Physical Endurance and Measurement (PE&MT) test, which is the next round of the selection process, before final selection.

Delhi Police Constable Result, 66,076 Candidates Shortlisted  by SSC

On Friday, June 19, 2026, at a quarter past nine, a 22-year-old Rohini resident, who we will call ‘A’, was waiting for the SSC site to refresh for the hundredth time. Instead of the final selection list, ‘A’ found herself on a list that was just as important, the list of candidates eligible to appear for the physical test. The result, for the Delhi Police Constable (Executive) Examination 2025, posted by the Staff Selection Commission, was a game-changer for lakhs of uniformed service aspirants across India.

The results were the outcome of a computer-based test, which was open to applicants from September 22 to October 31, 2025. The test itself took place between December 18, 2025, and January 6, 2026. Given the number of applications, there was a great deal of interest in the Police Constable recruitment. Even with a revision to the number of vacancies, from 7,565 to 7,201, a notice in February 2026 still saw 27,25,888 applicants.

Many candidates miss this point when they rush to celebrate their selection. The list that has been published this week is not the selection list. The list simply indicates the candidates who are eligible for the PET, which will be conducted by the Delhi Police.

The candidates who qualify for the PET/PMT will then undergo document scrutiny and a detailed medical examination. The final selection list will be published by the SSC only after the completion of all four stages.

What Happens Next

SSC has made it known that scorecards with section-wise marks in Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, and Computer Fundamentals will be made available to candidates in 10 to 15 days.

Candidates with NCC and/or Rashtriya Raksha University certificates will continue to be eligible for bonus marks in accordance with the existing scheme. Dates for the PET/ PMT round will be notified separately on the Delhi Police website. Thus, candidates should not depend on the SSC for that information.

Why This Matters for Teachers, Not Just Students

For coaching faculty and school career counsellors, this result provides a genuine benchmark for the next batch of aspirants, as opposed to a prediction. With 27 lakh aspirants for only 7,200 positions, the stage of written examination, in the absence of others, provided candidates with odds that rivaled the toughest of the engineering and medical entrance examinations.

Teachers now have new, validated information to work with for the forthcoming opening for Delhi Police recruitment, based on this cycle's pattern of results and the category-wise qualifying pattern.

Eligibility Snapshot

Constable (Executive) positions correspond to Pay Level-3 of the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix. Candidates must fall within the 18 to 25 years age bracket, as of July 1, 2025, with relaxation for the age of males in the reserved categories. Those candidates must also possess a driving licence, not a learner’s licence, for light motor vehicles by the time of the physical test.

The Takeaway

The task is simple for candidates who make it to the next level. Check your roll number on the official website (ssc.gov.in), and start preparing physically. Also, keep monitoring the SSC and Delhi Police websites for the schedule of the PET/ PMT. The only round that will give you the right to dress in the uniform is still ahead of you.
