New Delhi. : The Directorate of Education (DoE) has announced that non-plan admissions for Classes 6 to 9 in Delhi government schools for the 2025-26 academic session will commence on April 1. The admission process will be conducted in three phases: April 1-8, May 1-24, and July 1-25.
Admission Process & Eligibility Criteria
- Online Registration: Admissions for Classes 6 and 7 will be conducted online.
- Out-of-School Children: Dropout students aged 10-13 must register physically at the nearest school, where they will undergo a basic literacy and numeracy assessment before being placed in a suitable class.
- NSO Category Students: Those under the Non-Standard Organisation (NSO) category in government or aided schools must seek readmission or transfer through their current schools.
School Allotment & Verification
- Schools will be allotted based on vacancies and available infrastructure through an online mechanism.
- If no school is available in the designated cluster, the district education officer will assign one from a neighboring cluster.
- Parents can correct application errors before the deadline using an OTP-based validation system.
- Manual Applications for Class 9
- Students who miss online enrollment in all cycles can apply manually at their nearest school by August 5.
- The final admission list will be published on August 11, with August 31 as the last date for admissions.
Age Criteria & Special Relaxations
- Class 6: 10-12 years
- Class 7: 11-13 years
- Class 8: 12-14 years
- Class 9: 13-15 years
Students with disabilities are eligible for an age relaxation of six months to four years.
Additional relaxations may be granted for students facing traumatic situations, prolonged illness, or loss of a parent, subject to district-level approval upon submission of necessary documents.
