Students wanting admission to a postgraduate program can check the key dates, eligibility requirements, and fees to prepare for the next step in the admission process.

Delhi University Releases Timelines for CSAS PG Upgrade and Mid-Entry Rounds

The University of Delhi has formally announced the next major phase for its Common Seat Allocation System for Postgraduate (CSAS-PG) admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. According to the latest notifications from the university admission branch, the digital window for seat upgrades, fresh mid-entries, and form corrections is being opened this week. This news comes as a big relief for thousands of postgraduate aspirants who are trying to secure a seat or modify their college choices in the national university.

The entire process is being managed through the official online admission portal, and candidates need to follow the timelines strictly. The university have made it clear that these options are meant to streamline the allocation rounds and fill up any remaining vacant seats across different departments and affiliated colleges.

Rules and Dates for Changing College Preferences :

The first part of this new schedule focuses entirely on candidates who has already secured a seat in the first or second allocation rounds. The online upgrade facility have officially started today, June 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM onwards, and it will remain active until July 1, 2026, up to 4:59 PM. This limited time frame allows eligible students to opt for a higher-preference college or course if seats are available.

However, the university has added a few strict conditions for using this feature. Only those students who have accepted their previously allotted seats and fully paid their admission fees can apply for an upgrade. Applicants who were already given their absolute first preference or those who have manually clicked the 'Freeze' option will not be allowed to participate in this upgrade cycle.

Rules for Fresh Entries and Correcting Mistakes in the Application Form :

Right after the upgrade window closes, Delhi University will open its highly anticipated Mid-Entry and Correction Window. This option will go live on July 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM and will run until July 4, 2026, at 4:59 PM. The mid-entry provision is specially designed for candidates who either completely missed the initial CSAS PG registration or could not finish their application forms for some reason earlier.

To join the admission process at this stage, new applicants will have to pay a mandatory, non-refundable mid-entry fee of ₹1,000 online. During these same dates, already registered candidates can also use the portal to edit specific fields in their forms. Things do not match well if you make errors in eligibility details, so the university is giving this chance to correct academic profiles before the next round. However, category modifications can only be done once.

Release Date and Requirements for the Third Round Seat Allotment List :

Following the completion of mid-entries and form corrections, the university computer systems will process the updated merit data. DU has officially announced that the Third Round of CSAS PG Seat Allotment will be declared on July 6, 2026. This list will include allocations for general postgraduate programs, performance-based courses, and supernumerary quotas like Sports, CW (Children/Widows of Armed Forces), and Ward categories.

Once the round three list is out, selected candidates will have a very short time window to accept their seats online and get their documents verified by the respective colleges. The university has advised all students to keep their original documents and certificates ready in proper order. Mismatches in eligibility or missing the online payment deadline will lead to automatic seat cancellation.

Final Tips and Important Website Details :

As the admission season enters its final intense phase, candidate groups are busy discussing previous cutoff trends and seat matrix data. Admission experts are telling students that since many candidates leave their seats after getting into other central universities, the third round and mid-entry phase provide a very solid chance to enter top colleges.

Applicants should continuously track the official website admission.uod.ac.in for real-time notifications regarding vacant seat lists. If anyone faces technical difficulties while handling the mid-entry payment or choosing the upgrade option, they can contact the designated university helpdesk links. Completing every step nicely before the July deadlines is highly necessary to avoid missing out on a DU postgraduate seat this year.
