CUSB gets Fully funded project from Japan to study Material Science

- Saumya Gautam

The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has once again made its mark on the global platform. A fully funded research project has been signed between CUSB and Atomic Energy National Laboratory of Japan to study the fundamental questions and influencing factors related to Material Science. After the tireless efforts of Dr. Vijay Raj Singh, Associate Prof., Dept. of Physics, CUSB the University became a member for the study on Global Science Project " Utilization of Inhouse and Mega Science by Synchrotron Radiation of Data Storage Materials".

CUSB is the first institution in the state of Bihar that has been selected as a member for this Global project. Dr. Vijay Raj Singh and his team of researchers namely Mufiduzzaman, Riya and Aradhana worked for several months to grab this project. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of CUSB Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh and Registrar Col. Rajiv Kumar Singh has appreciated the achievement of Dr. Singh and his research scholars. Besides, Dean and Head of Physics Department, Professor Venkatesh Singh and other professors of the department have congratulated Dr. Singh and his team.

Giving detailed information, Dr. Vijay Raj Singh said that with this project we will get a better understanding of the fundamental factors affecting Solid State Physics, Material Science and Spintronic Devices. Along with this, we will also be able to know the hidden secrets of Material science which is necessary for Dense data storage devices. In this project, I along with my team would study the various dimensions of research and its results in the university laboratory. I am hopeful that this research will yield very encouraging results, which will allow CUSB as well as Bihar and India to participate in the study of physics and Material science on a global scale.

This Megascience project is operated by Japan's KEK-PF National Laboratory and is located at Oho near Tsukusa. In this project, more than three thousand scientists from 150 institutions around the world will do research together. It should be noted that Dr. Singh and his team would be given TA / DA for traveling to and from Japan to work on the research project. Dr. Singh and his team can visit Japan four times in a year for research purpose.
