CUH to contribute in the promotion of archeology & heritage

:- Central University of Haryana has been included in the list of 30 institutions of the country by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which are notified to conduct various activities related to archeology and heritage

 

Haryana: Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh has been included in the list of 30 institutions of the country by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which are notified to conduct various activities related to archeology and heritage. The Department of History and Archaeology of the University will do this work.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University thanked Government of India and appreciated the work being done by the teachers of the Department of History and Archeology in this direction.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that after being notified by the Ministry of Culture, the University would be able to contribute at the national level for the regulation and operation of ancient monuments and archaeological remains. Giving information about this achievement of the University, Dr. Narendra Parmar, Teacher-in-charge of the Department of History and Archeology of the University, said that the Ministry of Culture, Government of India has included the Department of History and Archaeology among the premier institutions of the country, which are engaged in various activities related to archeology and heritage.

To contribute the regulation and operation of ancient monuments and archeological remains, 30 institutions have been selected by the Government of India through a gazette notification. Only four institutes including Central University of Haryana have been selected for the North Zone. Earlier the department had excavated the Harappan site of Tigrana, Bhiwani district. This work of the department was also appreciated across the country.
