CUH studentgotsecond position for poster presentation in the International conference

The authors revealed that barley holds the future as a power house of nutrition with low glycaemic index.

Haryana :- Ms. Sarita, Research Scholar ofDr. Anita Kumari, Assistant ProfessorDepartment of Nutrition Biologyawarded second position for poster presentation of her research work entitled “Nutritional evaluation of different hull-less and hulled barley varieties and their potential role of reducing the risk of Non-communicable disease: Diabetes”.This marvellous exchange of scientific enlightenment took place in the International Conference on “Impact of Environment, Food and Nutrition on Human health” at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.The presented work was a cumulative effort of the co-authors;Dr. Anita Kumari and Ms. Deepika (Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Nutrition Biology). Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor;  Prof.Sushma Yadav, Pro Vice Chancellor; Prof.Suneel Kumar, Registrarand Prof.NeelamSangwan, Dean Research, DeanSIAS, and Director R&D Cellcongratulated and appreciated the efforts of the authors for performing an interdisciplinary, applied and essential research on an upcoming future superfood: Barley.

The authors revealed that barley holds the future as a power house of nutrition with low glycaemic index. It is a sustainable solution to manage various non-communicable disorders and has been quoted to have anti-diabetic activity. Thus, the promotion of barley in terms of production and utilization in the form of functional food products may help in reducing the burden of food, nutrition,non-communicable disorder, and economic security.Prof. Kanti Prakash Sharma, Head, Department of Nutrition Biology also congratulated the whole team and motivated the young researchers to carry out such visionary research work and present the same for scientific exchange at regional, national, and global level. On this occasion Dr. Umesh Kumar, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Dr. TejpalDhewa, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Manisha Pandey, and Dr. Jitendra Kumaralso marked their gracious presence.
