Haryana :- Department of Microbiology in collaboration with Department of Nutrition Biology has organized“Expert lecture on “Career opportunities for life sciences students in food industry”on 7thNovember, 2023. First of all, Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the programme and put a light on the related theme. Prof.Tankeshwar while addressing the audience, revealed that every field is scientifically related to food sector and any student of life sciences stream can join food industry or can become an entrepreneur which will also meet the National Mandate “AttamNirbhar Bharat”.
Prof.NeelamSangwan, Dean, SIAS, and Director, Research and Development Cell have appreciated the efforts of the both the departmentsfor conducting this lecture; it will also lead to motivate our young aspirants to explore the job avenues in different sectors of the Industries.TheConvenors (Prof.Surender Singh), Head, Department of Microbiology and (Prof.Kanti Prakash Sharma), Head, Department of Nutrition Biology and organizing secretaries of the event (Dr.Jitendra Kumar Saini; Department of Microbiology andDr.Anita Kumari; Department of Nutrition Biology)play pivotal role in organizing the event. The purpose of organizing this event was to aware the students about the job opportunities in different food industries by using their academic skills/backgrounds.Mr. Amit Mani (Commercial Director), Kerry Taste & Nutrition a leading Multi-National Company in Food Products was the industry expert for the event wherein he highlighted the scope of absorbing life science students in various food industries depending upon the qualification and skills they have. The invited expert has also responded to the queries raised by the faculty members and students. More than 130 students attended the event. Prof. GunjanGoel, Prof.VikasBeniwal, Dr.Umesh Kumar, Dr. Puja Yadav, Dr.AvijitPramanik, Dr. Vinod Kumar and other faculty members have joined the event.
