Mahendergarh, Haryana: Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Central Library, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organized an Information Scientist Conclave to discuss the technological trends in Libraries and Career progression issues. More than 25 Information Scientists of various universities participated in this online conclave.
Dr. Santosh. C. H., University Librarian welcomed the participants. In his introductory remarks he emphasised on the importance of discussing and sharing ideas on the library technology. He also highlighted that the right blend of technology to offer valuable library services to the academic community is necessary. The participants shared their experiences and views on mobile libraries, digital library systems, RFID technology, LMS, plagiarism software, using Internet of things, Big data for data visualization and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Liny from Cochin University of Science and Technology talked about library ICT trends. Dr. Ranjit Singh from Swami Marathwada University, Mr. Kallol Das Information Scientist from North East University, Assam, Mr. Oliver, Information Scientist from Pondicherry University, Mr. Johan Mir from JNU, Dr. Vikram from Jammu Kashmir University discussed about Library technological trends, career progression issues and possible solutions. It was finally decided that the Information Scientists all over the India will work to exchange of ideas on technological and career progression.
