CUH Law Students Train Mahendergarh Police on New Criminal Laws

Workshop bridges academic knowledge with ground-level policing practices

Mahendergarh : Law students from the Department of Law, Central University of Haryana (CUH), conducted a workshop on India’s new criminal laws for police officials at Satnali, Mahendergarh Sadar, and City Police Stations. The initiative, held under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, aimed to connect academic learning with practical law enforcement.

Led by Dr. Pardeep Singh, Head and Dean of the School of Law, the program focused on reforms introduced through the new statutes, including victim rights, speedy trials, electronic evidence, witness protection, and technology-driven processes.

The event featured a detailed student presentation followed by an interactive session where police officials discussed implementation challenges. Students responded with well-researched insights, earning appreciation from the officers.

DSP Mahendergarh lauded the effort, encouraging more such collaborations. Dr. Singh highlighted that these initiatives help phase out outdated practices while fostering mutual learning between law students and police personnel.

This academic–field partnership marked an important step toward strengthening awareness and effective implementation of India’s evolving criminal justice system.
