CUH is spreading awareness about nutrition

:- The program organized by the Department of Nutritional Biology included speech, poster making quiz and slogan competitions

 

Haryana: A one-day event was organized in the Government Senior Secondary School, Pali village adopted by the University under the National Nutrition Month by Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. The program organized by the Department of Nutritional Biology included speech, poster making quiz and slogan competitions. School students enthusiastically participated in it. For this event, HoD, Prof. Kanti Prakash acknowledged the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar for his guidance and said that such events would continue continuously in the discharge of the social responsibilities of the University.

Dr. I.C. Sharma, Principal, GSSS, Pali welcomed the team of the University and expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University for choosing the school for this event. The one-day event started with a speech competition focused on the topic of “Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan”, followed by a slogan competition with the aim of creating awareness among the students about the importance of nutrition. 

In this sequence, a poster making competition was also organized on the theme of Celebrate a World of Flavors and Balanced Diet. In the end, a quiz competition was organized to create curiosity in the minds of the youth. 

Earlier, due to its commitment towards social development by the Department of Nutritional Biology, National Nutrition Month was also celebrated at various places in the district Mahendragarh in coordination with Poshan Abhiyan, Women and Child Development, Narnaul, Haryana. 

The department also sensitized the Anganwadi workers of various blocks like Ateli, Kanina, Mahendergarh, Nangal Chaudhary, Narnaul Rural and Urban between 12 and 19 September about nutrition. 

The faculty members and students of the Department emphasized the importance of hygiene in food preparation and also explained with examples the importance of probiotics and prebiotics in the treatment of digestive disorders. Experts also discussed the importance of millet in human health and created awareness about the celebration of International Year of Millet-2023.
