What Comes Next? Universities, Merit Lists, and Admissions
There is one important point that both students and parents need to understand. The role of the NTA in CUET UG is completed when the results are declared. The NTA does not create merit lists, determine cut-off scores, or provide counselling. All the participating universities and other institutions do this on their own.
All the 244 participating universities will use the CUET UG 2026 NTA scores to create their own merit and rank lists. Students will have to check the official websites of the universities to which they have applied for any announcements regarding counselling and admissions.
What students must do now:
- Go to cuet.nta.nic.in and download the CUET UG 2026 scorecard.
- Note the NTA score of each subject.
- Check the list of universities that you have applied to and check their websites.
- Monitor the merit list and counselling announcements of each university.
- Keep the scorecard PDF safe, as it will be needed for counselling for each university.
- Students of SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories should be ready with their category certificates for verification.
The NTA scorecard will have subject-wise NTA scores. These scores will be one of the eligibility criteria for the universities to create their admission lists. There will be no single central counselling for CUET UG admissions.
For any queries related to the scorecard or results, students may contact the NTA through the portal cuet.nta.nic.in.
