Bengaluru :

Azim Premji University's English department extends an invitation to young writers, aged 16-25 in Karnataka, for a short story contest. The deadline for submissions, exploring the theme "Model Homes Layout" in English or Kannada, is February 10, 2024.
Students are encouraged to craft tales, either realistic or fictional, within a word limit of 1500 to 3000, while sticking true to the specified theme. The competition boasts two distinguished prizes for the best Kannada and English stories, with a certificate of recognition and a 5000-rupee book coupon for each winner. Additionally, four runners-up from both languages will be honoured with certificates and 2500-rupee book coupons.
Beyond the allure of prizes, this contest tries to identify and foster exceptional talents, offering a pathway for aspiring young writers to explore careers in literature or journalism. A panel, comprising faculty members, authors, and writing experts, will assess submissions based on creativity.
The results will be revealed during a mid-March ceremony hosted at the university, not only celebrating the winners but also nurturing the literary aspirations of young minds across Karnataka.
