Counseling for NEET PG 2022 postponed accommodating more seats and benefit candidates

New Delhi: The National Eligibility Comprehensive Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) counseling date has been postponed. The Medical Counseling Committee will now begin the NEET PG counseling 2022 registration process later; the dates will be posted on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in. The process was originally planned to begin on September 1.

In a statement conveying the news of the NEET PG 2022 counseling postponement, MCC stated: "The NEET PG 2022 candidates are advised that the NEET PG counseling 2022 was planned to begin from September 1. Nevertheless, the National Medical Commission (NMC) will finish granting new LOPs for the current academic year by September 15th.

Therefore, it said, the NEET PG counseling schedule has been modified in order to include more seats for the candidates' benefit.

For admission to 50% of all India quota (AIQ) seats, 100% of deemed, central universities, and AFMS (MD/ MS/ Diploma/ PG DNB) seats, MCC administers the NEET PG 2022 counseling procedure. A mop-up round and a stray vacancy round for AIQ, Central University seats and AFMS, DNB PG seats were to be held as part of the MCC NEET PG counseling.

The first round of NEET PG counseling 2022 registration and payment of fees was planned to take place between September 1 and September 4. Beginning on September 2, the choice-filling and locking would have continued through September 5.
