Gandhinagar - Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), formerly known as DA-IICT, successfully conducted its 20th CConvocation Ceremony at its Gandhinagar Campus on Saturday, awarding degrees to 649 students from undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, former Director of IIT Madras, who delivered the Convocation Address. The event was presided over by Ambassador T.S Tirumurti, who was Member of Board of Governors. Senior university officials, faculty members, students and their families were also present on the occasion.
Out of the total graduates, 348 students received undergraduate degrees from various B.Tech. Programmes. While 295 students were awarded postgraduate degrees across M.Tech, M.Sc and M.Des programmes. Additionally six scholars were conferred for Ph.D. degree, marking an important academic milestones.
The convocation celebration began a day earlier with a Pre-convocation Award Ceremony on January 16, during which academic excellence in research achievements were recognised. Faculty members and students were honoured for their outstanding contribution in academics, research and co-curricular activities. A special message from the President of the University Ms.Tina Anil Ambani was shared with the graduating students. She encouraged them to pursue innovation while staying focused on human-centred design and reminded them that physical and mental well-being are essential for long-term success..
As part of its 25-year milestone, the University also announced the Distinguished Alumni Award, which was conferred upon Mr. Pavitar Singh, a 2005 B.Tech (ICT) graduate, for his professional excellence and continued association with the institution. The convocation highlighted DAU's growth in a multidisciplinary university playing a key role in nurturing talent across engineering,data science, design, agriculture, analytics, and research domains.
