Gandhinagar - IIT Gandhinagar has taken a major step towards strengthening India-Taiwan ties in the semiconductor sector by partnering with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU).
Taiwan and Ampak Technology Inc, a leading wireless communication and semiconductor company. The collaboration aims to promote joint research, academic exchange and industry-academic partnership in areas such as integrated circuit design, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. The partnership was reinforced during The Visit of Prof. Li Chun Wang from NYCU and Mr. Ming-Jer Chen, CEO of Ampak Technology Inc, to the IIT Gandhinagar campus on January 13 and 14 during programmes and long-term academic collaborations.
Students and faculty of IIT Gandhinagar showcased their ongoing research work in areas, including semiconductor materials, IC design, AI, Machine learning, quantum computing, battery technology and wearable electronics. The visiting experts interacted closely with students sharing insights on industry trends, research careers and real-world manufacturing challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Li Chun Wang praised IIT Gandhinagar students for their strong fundamentals, curiosity and interdisciplinary approach and stressed the importance of the exposure to real manufacturing environment and long-term collaboration to strengthen the global semiconductor while welcoming the initiative, IIT Gandhinagar Director Prof. Rajat Moona said that such international partnership would provide students with hands-on experience, advanced training and opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, enabling them to contribute effectively to India's growing semiconductor mission.
