CMR University students organize play with Bangalore traffic police to raise awareness on traffic conditions

Uploaded video to YouTube

Bengaluru : The Banaswadi traffic police collaborated with 14 students from CMR University’s School of Social Sciences and Humanities to perform a street play in order to raise awareness about road safety, general vehicle regulations and traffic awareness. The play was performed on CMR Road in Banaswadi, a ward of Bangalore, and was recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

The play has various actors telling the audience to be careful and giving reasons as to why they need to be cautious while driving. Advice such as “do not drink and drive” and “never use your phone while driving a vehicle” are shown on screen as actors admonish other actors playing irresponsible drivers for breaking these rules. Multiple tips are also shown towards the end of the video for both two wheelers and four wheelers, such as always wearing a helmet and staying in one lane while driving a motorcycle and avoiding distractions and using turn signals when driving a car.

The video also features assistant sub-inspector Ramesh B, police constable Mohammed Rafi and head police constable JJ Kumar of the Bangalore Traffic Police supporting the messages shown in the video and saying that the students did a good job in showing why traffic rules are meant to be in place. The police officers thanked the students for performing this play.
