Chhattisgarh DME Closes NEET UG Round 1 Choice Locking Window Today

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Chhattisgarh closes the choice filling and locking window for NEET UG 2026 Round 1 state quota seats today, August 17, 2026. Candidates applying for 85% state quota MBBS and BDS seats must lock their choices at cgdme.admissions.nic.in before midnight ahead of the official state merit list release tomorrow.

Chhattisgarh DME Closes NEET UG Round 1 Choice Locking Window Today

DME Raipur cancels DPC counselling date, choice lock facility closes today on 17th August for allotment of 85% state quota seats in government and private medical/dental colleges of Chhattisgarh.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Administration, Raipur, Chhattisgarh has scheduled the counselling for the allotment of 85 percent state quota seats in various government and private medical/dental colleges of the state for session 2026 -27.

The counselling was initially scheduled to start from 12th August 2026, but the Directorate cancelled the DPC counselling date due to technical problems and scheduled it for 17th August 2026 for filling choices and locking facility. The students who want to seek admission under state quota in any of the government and private medical/dental colleges must complete the choice filling procedures on or before midnight of 17th August 2026. The choice filling can be done by logging on to the online portal of DME at cgdme.admissions.nic.in .

The Directorate emphasized that once the choice has been locked by the student, no changes would be allowed under any circumstances. Therefore, the students must ensure that they have made the correct choices while submitting the choices form before the choice lockdown time i.e. midnight of 17th August 2026.

Important Instructions for Choice Filling and Locking - 

The candidates who have applied for state quota seats in MBBS/BDS Courses under Chhattisgarh Government Medical/Dental Admission must note that choice locking is a mandatory requirement to avail seats under state quota.

Therefore, it is advised that if a candidate registered for state quota seats, he/she must remember to lock the choices, as a system may automatically save the last entered choices or reject the choice form if not locked by the deadline.

Key choices are applicable for all government and private colleges for MBBS and BDS courses like Pt. J N M Medical College Raipur and Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences Bilaspur etc.

The students are requested to not to wait until the last minute for choice filling and locking so that they can avoid server traffic issues. In addition, students must make sure that the colleges chosen by them are entered in the choice form in the exact order as desired. They must verify the choice form before locking it.

Merit Lists Published Tomorrow by Chhattisgarh DME - 

The Directorate of Medical Education will prepare the state merit list for the first round of counselling after choice filling and locking process is over which is expected to be published by tomorrow i.e. on 18th August 2026.

In addition to the state merit list, the eligible NRI candidates list will also be published on the same day. The students can cross-verify their merit and category-wise state rank by checking the published merit list in PDF format that will also be available for download on the Directorate's portal. The merit list will indicate the candidate's position on the basis of NEET scores and other criteria determined by the admission authorities.

Next Steps After Merit Lists for Chhattisgarh NEET counselling - 

The allotment of seats to the candidates will be done on the basis of merit list, state category-wise rank, and choices locked by the candidates. The allotment of seats for first round will be published on 20th August 2026.

Seat Allotment Result Date: 20th August 2026

The candidates who secure admission through first round of counselling must report to the allotted medical/dental colleges between 21st August 2026 to 27th August 2026. The physical verification of documents will be done at the colleges during the report date.

Important Guidelines for Candidates - 

The admission authorities have issued certain guidelines for all the candidates who are participating in the state quota counselling. The guidelines mention that the candidates must report to the allotted colleges within the due date otherwise they could lose their chance to take admission under first round allotment and they will be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling for vacant seats.

The candidates are advised to keep their original documents ready for verification as and when required. The documents to be verified include NEET score card, Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate (10th class), Higher Secondary School Certificate (12th class), Chhattisgarh Domicile Certificate, and category certificate (if applicable). The students must carry photocopies of the above-mentioned documents along with the printout of their choice form.
