New Delhi: Chartered accountants are professionals who work in various sectors of the economy, managing the finances of an entity, providing financial advice and helping out with money management. This can be for a business, individual or government. The career option for a chartered accountant (CA) is expansive, specifically in India. It is filled with high-paying jobs having huge growth potential and promising a comfortable future. They earn a good salary and reach high figures with increased experience. The top 7 career options are internal audit, tax audit, statutory audit, finance controller, forensic auditing, management consulting, and treasury.

Candidates who are graduates/ postgraduates in commerce and have a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply for the CA Intermediate course. Candidates who are graduates/ postgraduates in any other stream (except commerce) and have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate are also eligible to register. Certification of Chartered Accountancy is a professional certification awarded after completion of three examinations namely CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final. In India ICAI or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) provides the certification to become a Chartered Accountant. 

Common Proficiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course. A 10th Passed student can register for CPT Course by filling in the prescribed registration form along with the requisite fee. ICAI conducts the CA exams list in India consists of 3 names – CA Foundation, IPCC and CA Final. Candidates need to clear the entire CA exam list in order to become a professional in this field.

CA CPT (Chartered Accountancy Common Proficiency Test):
National-level entrance exam
Conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
Course offered: After CPT, students can apply for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPC) with ICAI.( IPC is the second level under CA Course.)

All ICAI branches of colleges provide CA courses for a fee under Rs.10,000/-. Private colleges known for the course and execution are Deshbhakt Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce(Kolhapur), ETEN CA(Bangalore), Bhavan's Vivekananda College of Science(Hyderabad), Indian School of Business Management & Administration (ISBM, Hyderabad).
