Mahendergarh ; Central University of Haryana has achieved a significant international milestone by securing its first-ever grant under the prestigious Erasmus+ Programme funded by the European Union. The project has been approved under the Erasmus+ KA171 (International Credit Mobility) programme. This important international academic collaboration has been established through the joint efforts of Dr. Anshu Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Miroslav Almasi from Pavol Jozef Safarik University, Košice, Slovakia.

Congratulating Dr. Anshu Sharma on this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar stated that the collaboration will strengthen the university’s international academic presence and reaffirm its commitment to research excellence.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma and Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar also extended their congratulations, describing the Erasmus+ grant as a historic achievement for the university. They emphasized that it will open new avenues for international collaborations, academic exchange programmes, and future research initiatives.

Dr. Anshu Sharma informed that the agreement aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between the Central University of Haryana and Pavol Jozef Šafárik University. Under this project, two faculty members and two Ph.D. scholars from CUH will visit Slovakia for training and research, while two faculty members from Slovakia will visit CUH for collaborative academic activities. The collaboration will particularly focus on the emerging research area of physical chemistry of porous materials for energy applications, which is highly relevant to clean energy, sustainable technologies, and advanced materials science.

The Erasmus+ KA171 programme is designed to strengthen global academic partnerships by promoting student and faculty mobility, joint research, and institutional cooperation. A key feature of the programme is its comprehensive financial support, covering travel, accommodation, and academic engagement expenses, thereby enabling participants to gain international exposure without financial constraints.

From a research perspective, the collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to interdisciplinary fields such as chemical sciences, materials research, and applied physics. It will facilitate joint research publications, exchange of expertise, and access to advanced laboratory facilities.

Beyond academic and scientific benefits, the initiative also carries strong cultural and educational significance. It will promote cross-cultural understanding, global academic networking, and the exchange of ideas between India and Slovakia, enriching the academic environment of both institutions.
