Mahendergarh ; The Central University of Haryana (CUH) marked a significant academic milestone as its School of Law inaugurated the first-ever National Moot Court Competition at its Mahendergarh campus.
The inaugural session was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Anand Sharma, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Rakesh Mehta, who joined as the Guest of Honour. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, appreciated the initiative and extended his best wishes to all participants.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Pardeep Singh, Head and Dean of the School of Law, who warmly received 20 participating teams from across the country. Highlighting the importance of moot courts as a “laboratory for law students,” he encouraged participants to present compelling arguments and strive for excellence. He also acknowledged the support of the university leadership, faculty, and students in successfully organizing the competition.
In his keynote address, Prof. Anand Sharma emphasized that moot courts are essential platforms for aspiring lawyers to refine their advocacy skills and deepen their understanding of justice and Nyaya. He inspired students to work towards ensuring justice for the underprivileged. Adding practical insights, Mr. Rakesh Mehta encouraged participants to embrace discipline and dedication in legal practice.
The two-day competition promises intense legal deliberations and intellectual exchange, as highlighted by Dr. Samiksha. The event also witnessed the presence of Dr. Dharmpal and Rakesh Meena, along with other esteemed members of the university community.
Participating institutions include prominent universities such as Banaras Hindu University, Himachal Pradesh University, Kurukshetra University, Central University of Punjab, SRM University, and Amity University, among others.
With enthusiastic participation and a spirit of academic excellence, the competition is set to showcase rigorous legal discourse and exceptional advocacy skills. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Anju.
