New Delhi: As part of the 511th Orientation Course, teacher participants from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi, undertook an educational visit to the National Museum, New Delhi, aimed at strengthening experiential learning and heritage-based pedagogy.
During the visit, the participants explored several significant galleries of the museum, including the Harappan Gallery, Miniature Painting Galleries, and other important artifact sections showcasing India’s vast cultural and historical legacy. The guided exploration provided teachers with valuable first-hand exposure to ancient civilizations, artistic traditions, and archaeological treasures, enhancing their understanding of India’s diverse heritage.
The educational tour enabled teachers to connect historical narratives with visual and material culture, offering insights into how museum resources can be effectively integrated into classroom teaching. Participants engaged actively with the exhibits, discussing methods to use such heritage assets to make learning more interactive and meaningful for students.
The day’s programme concluded with hands-on craft sessions, where teacher participants engaged in practical artistic activities. These sessions emphasized the integration of heritage, arts, and crafts within classroom pedagogy, reinforcing CCRT’s mission of promoting culture-based education across schools.
