CBSE Rolls Out Nationwide Teacher Training for Skill Based Curriculum

CBSE has announced a major teacher training programme starting January 5, 2026 to prepare educators for the rollout of mandatory skill education in middle schools.

New Delhi: In a significant move to strengthen classroom delivery under the National Education Policy 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rolled out a nationwide teacher training programme aimed at implementing the newly compulsory Skill Education curriculum for Classes 6–8.

Under the scheme, one-day Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) will be held from January 5, 2026 at multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and surrounding regions. These sessions will equip teachers with the tools and methodologies needed to integrate practical learning, competency development, and applied skills into regular teaching — replacing rote learning with meaningful, real-world applications.

The capacity-building initiative reflects a broader shift in India’s education landscape — one that aligns national policy priorities with classroom practice, ensuring students benefit from a curriculum that fosters critical thinking, practical skills, and future readiness. Schools and teachers are encouraged to complete registration and access full details on the official CBSE Academic portal.
