Bihar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced a re-examination date for the Paper-II session of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 after the exam was cancelled earlier this month at two examination centres in Bihar. The decision follows disruptions at Lakshya International Academy, Bardiha, Vaishali, and St. John’s Academy, Basmati Nagar, Vaishali, where the Paper-II segment of the 21st edition of CTET could not be held on February 7 due to administrative reasons. These issues forced the CBSE to call off the examination specifically for candidates allotted to these two locations, while tests at other centres across the country proceeded as scheduled.
New Date and Admit Card Details
Affected candidates will now sit for the re-exam on March 1, 2026 (Sunday).
Fresh admit cards will soon be made available on the official CTET portal ctet.nic.in through the candidates’ login accounts. Candidates are advised to download the updated hall tickets and check all details carefully before appearing for the test. The Board has emphasised that no further changes to the exam date or centre will be permitted under any circumstances. This re-examination is the only opportunity provided to the candidates impacted by the cancellation to complete the CTET 2026 Paper-II.
What This Means for Aspiring Teachers
CTET is a crucial eligibility test for candidates seeking teaching positions in central government schools and other institutions that recognise the CTET score. Thousands of aspirants across the country take this test annually as a qualifying requirement for appointment to Classes I to VIII.
Next Steps in CTET Process
After the March 1 re-exam is conducted, CBSE is expected to release the provisional answer keys, along with scanned images of all candidates’ OMR response sheets on ctet.nic.in. Candidates will be given an opportunity to raise objections against the provisional keys within a specified window before the final answer key and results are published.
Aspirants and stakeholders are advised to regularly check official communication channels and the CTET website for updates and notifications related to exam schedules, admit cards, answer keys, and results.
