New Delhi. ; The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) revaluation portal was put to the test as thousands of students sought to defend their results whilst the portal withstood a massive coordinated cyber offensive, attempting to undermine this service. By 3:00 PM the CBSE revaluation portal had already accepted 16,000 submissions.
With a current capacity to support 8,000 concurrent users, the revaluation portal also ensures that students across India can access the portal with minimal delay. The system’s ability to handle the high requeue traffic shows the CBSE board commitment to providing online digital support, while students await the outcome of their board examination re-evaluation.
Attacks On Systems Security Successfully Countered
In a disturbing turn of events, a cyber denial of service (DoS) was initiated by users to access the portal in an unprecedented 2-minute time frame of 1.5 million hits. In a coordinated attack, over 100,000 attempts to illegally access system files were also made. This undermines the integrity of the revaluation process and places students’ data at risk.
CBSE technical teams were quick to respond to the threats and implemented counter measures in real time to ensure that none of the system users experienced any disruption or degradation of services. The board has assured students that their Private and Academic data remains protected and secured and that there has been no unauthorized access to their data.
Improvements Implemented with a Student Focus
CBSE has made several changes on their platform based on feedback that shows how flexible/ responsive they are to the students’ needs. One notable change has been the increased time limits on the sessions which lets the students take their time without having to rush due to time out on the session. The updates that have been made show how CBSE is dedicated to making the revaluation process easier and fairer to the students at a tought/time sensitive point in their academic career.
What Students Need to Know
Students who have not yet submitted their revaluation requests should:
- Use verified links to access the official CBSE revaluation portal
- Stay away from third party websites that claim to help with submission
- Apply during the early morning or late evening when portal traffic is less congested
- Have all documents ready to maximize the benefit of the extended session time
Board's Commitment to Student Welfare
In their statement, CBSE said that their teams stay vigilant and responsive and that students are provided with full support during the revaluation process. The Board's rapid response to the many kinds of cyber threats, while also improving the user experience, strikes a fair balance of digital governance in education. During the process of revaluation, CBSE said that security measures and platform adjustments will be added. Students and their parents are told to stay updated about CBSE through their official communication channels and not believe the false information that is being spread through social media. The efficiency that CBSE showed in dealing with the cyber attack that allowed thousands of students to continue using their services is proof of the strength of their digital systems and their unwavering focus on their students.
